What Does First Aid Compliance Require?

First aid requirements vary depending on your industry and the hazards present in your workplace. In California, two key standards apply:

  • Title 8, Section 1512 – Covers construction industry employees in detail.
  • Title 8, Section 3400 – Applies to general industries and office environments.

Regardless of which applies, the law mandates readiness through:

  • Adequate and accessible first aid supplies
  • Emergency medical response planning

On-site personnel trained in first aid (unless in close proximity to a clinic or infirmary)

Topics Covered in Our Training

Your staff will learn how to recognize and respond to:

  • Heart attack signs and symptoms
  • Sudden cardiac arrest (CPR and AED)
  • Bleeding, burns, fractures, seizures, and shock
  • Diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions, and heat/cold-related illnesses
  • Bloodborne pathogen risks
  • Emergency preparedness and workplace safety protocols

Each course includes practical testing and video presentations to reinforce understanding.

Why Workplace CPR & First Aid Training Matters

  • 13% of workplace fatalities stem from sudden cardiac arrest
  • 25% of ER visits could be avoided with basic first aid knowledge
  • For every $1 invested in health and safety training, employers save an average of $3.84 in healthcare costs and $5.82 in absenteeism costs

The result? A safer workplace, lower risk of liability, and a culture of care and preparedness.
