Description
This online course prepares participants to recognize, avoid, abate, and prevent health and safety hazards commonly associated with construction worksites. Doing so enables them to maintain the safety standards required by the state of California.
Course topics include:
- Introduction to Cal/OSHA
- Workers’ rights
- Employer responsibilities
- How to file a complaint
- OSHA Focus Four Hazards (fall hazards, electrocution hazards, caught-in or –between hazards, struck-by hazards)
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Common health hazards
- Materials handling
- Stairway, ladder, and scaffold safety
- Hand and power tools
- Strategies for leading safety culture change
Course participants should be aware that employer policies may be different and/or more stringent than those reviewed in this course.
